Module 5

Wow! So much to keep up with. This module covers content with which I am already familiar to some extent. I think digital storytelling is the way of the future. The kids just love it adapt to it so easily. Only a limited number of students these days do not own an mp3 of some description so most are familiar with itunes and its capability.

YouTube has some great classroom applications. Many students learn through visual methods and You Tube and Teacher Tube cover a wide range of topics which can be used in the classsroom. You Tube is one of my favourite past times. I'm always finding links to units of work and also finding music links to use as reflections for prayer in the classroom.

I have used Movie Maker and Photo Story 3 in the classroom as part of an iLearn project so this module fits in well with this module. The kids have picked up new skills and have some produced some good resouces for the school on the topic of bullying using both this software and have also produced a vodcast. This was an exciting little project to work on.

Module 4

Different views of Uluru

I've just finished exploring the module on Flickr and must say that it has many applications for use both professionally and at home. It could be one way of organising the school's photos in one central place as long as the privacy issues were in place. It would be a great source of images for the students as long as they too understood the issues around copyright. It is something I would like to explore futher when I have more time.

Module 3

Have just finished viewing google docs. I think it has a great application for teachers both in and out of the classroom. It would be good to be able to work on a document at school and then be able to save it as a google doc and then access it at home and continue working on it - it saves emailing it home or saving it to a usb. Also the application of google docs when working with a team is limitless. It saves having different versions of the same document and saves messing around with attachments etc. It would also be fun for the kids to be all working on the same document at the same time - they would enjoy seeing their work appear on screen as fast as everyone else's. Lots more to learn!!!

Module 2

Instructions to include email address in third column stumped me and I seem to be the only one with a line under the email address. Did it three times following the instructions but it wouldnt save properly so did it manually in the end.

Module 1

I've made a start and am on my way at last.

At least now I know the meaning of Web 2 so that is all cleared up. Have had lots of fun creating my igoogle page, but now the only trouble is every time I log on I spend loads of time browsing through all my favourite gadgets etc and dont leave myself time to do what I set out to do.

Choosing my gmail username was very frustrating as all my name choices were already taken up but I like what I ended up with.

Looking forward to leaning more and having lots of fun while I do it.
